The FUNAAB cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 academic session depends on the programme chosen by the candidate. The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has published different minimum acceptable UTME scores for its degree programmes.

For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, the published minimum scores range from 160 to 200 marks. Several Agriculture programmes require 160, while courses such as Computer Science, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry and Microbiology require 200.

However, meeting the published minimum score does not guarantee admission. FUNAAB states that admission will be processed through JAMB CAPS based on the carrying capacity of the programme, the minimum UTME score and the relevant O’Level, UTME or Direct Entry requirements.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark 2026/2027

There is no single cut-off mark for all FUNAAB courses.

Instead, the university has listed the minimum acceptable UTME score for each programme. Candidates should therefore check the score attached to their preferred course.

The published 2026/2027 scores are grouped broadly into four levels:

Minimum UTME Score Examples of Programmes
160 Agricultural Administration, Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Animal Production and Health, Crop Protection, Horticulture
180 Pure and Applied Botany, Pure and Applied Zoology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Home Science and Management
190 Biotechnology, Public Health, Science Laboratory Technology
200 Biochemistry, Microbiology, Computer Science, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Accounting, Economics

These figures represent the minimum acceptable UTME scores published by FUNAAB for the listed programmes.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Agriculture Courses

Many Agriculture-related programmes have a minimum acceptable UTME score of 160 for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

Programmes in this category include:

  • Agricultural Administration
  • Agricultural Economics and Farm Management
  • Agricultural Extension and Rural Development
  • Animal Breeding and Genetics
  • Animal Nutrition
  • Animal Physiology
  • Animal Production and Health
  • Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
  • Climate Science and Agricultural Meteorology
  • Crop Protection
  • Environmental Management and Toxicology
  • Forest Resource Management
  • Geology
  • Horticulture
  • Hydrology and Water Resources Management
  • Pasture and Range Management
  • Plant Breeding and Seed Technology
  • Plant Physiology and Crop Production
  • Soil Science and Land Management
  • Water Resources Management and Agro-meteorology
  • Wildlife and Eco-tourism Management
  • Water Sanitation and Hygiene

FUNAAB’s official programme list places these courses at a minimum acceptable UTME score of 160.

Candidates should still check the specific O’Level and UTME subject requirements for their chosen course.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Biosciences

Bioscience programmes have different minimum scores.

For the 2026/2027 session, FUNAAB lists:

  • Biochemistry: 200
  • Biotechnology: 190
  • Microbiology: 200
  • Public Health: 190
  • Pure and Applied Botany: 180
  • Pure and Applied Zoology: 180
  • Science Laboratory Technology: 190

Therefore, candidates applying for Biochemistry or Microbiology need at least 200 marks based on the published programme requirements.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Computer Science and Computing Courses

Computing-related programmes are among the courses with the highest published minimum score at FUNAAB.

The 2026/2027 programme list gives a minimum acceptable UTME score of 200 for:

  • Computer Science
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Information Technology
  • Software Engineering

A candidate who scored 180, for example, would not meet the published minimum UTME requirement for these programmes.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Engineering

FUNAAB has set a minimum acceptable UTME score of 200 for its listed Engineering programmes.

The programmes include:

  • Agricultural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering

Therefore, candidates seeking admission into these Engineering programmes should have at least 200 in the 2026 UTME.

However, 200 should be understood as the published minimum acceptable score, not an automatic admission score.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Veterinary Medicine

Veterinary Medicine has a minimum acceptable UTME score of 200 for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

Candidates must also satisfy the relevant O’Level and UTME subject requirements.

FUNAAB’s admission requirements indicate that candidates seeking Veterinary Medicine must have five relevant O’Level credits, including English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Physical Science Courses

The published minimum scores for selected Physical Science programmes are:

  • Chemistry: 180
  • Geophysics: 180
  • Industrial Chemistry: 180
  • Mathematics: 200
  • Physics: 200
  • Statistics: 200

This means candidates should not assume that every Physical Science course has the same minimum score.

FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark for Management Science Courses

FUNAAB also has different minimum scores for Management and related programmes.

The 2026/2027 programme list shows:

  • Accounting: 200
  • Banking and Finance: 200
  • Business Administration: 200
  • Cooperative Studies: 160
  • Development Studies: 160
  • Economics: 200
  • Entrepreneurial Studies: 180
  • Library and Information Science: 180

Candidates should therefore check the score attached to their specific programme before assessing their admission chances.

Is FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark 160 for 2026/2027?

Yes, 160 is the minimum acceptable UTME score for several FUNAAB programmes.

However, it is incorrect to say that 160 is the cut-off mark for every course at FUNAAB.

The official 2026/2027 programme list shows that some courses require 180, 190 or 200 marks.

Therefore, a candidate who scored 160 should first identify programmes with a published minimum of 160.

A score of 160 does not satisfy a programme requiring 180, 190 or 200.

Can I Study at FUNAAB with 180?

Yes, a score of 180 meets the published minimum for programmes requiring 160 or 180.

However, 180 does not meet the stated minimum for courses requiring 190 or 200.

For example, candidates with 180 marks would not meet the published minimum for Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Engineering or Veterinary Medicine.

Can I Study at FUNAAB with 200?

Yes. A UTME score of 200 meets the published minimum score for all FUNAAB programmes currently listed on the 2026/2027 programme page.

However, meeting 200 does not automatically guarantee admission.

The university states that admission also depends on factors such as programme carrying capacity and the applicable O’Level, UTME or Direct Entry requirements.

FUNAAB O’Level Requirements

UTME score is only one part of the admission requirements.

FUNAAB requires applicants to possess at least five relevant O’Level credits at one or two sittings in recognised examinations such as SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB.

For Agriculture, Engineering, Biosciences, Physical Sciences, Computing Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, the general requirement includes credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

Management Sciences generally require English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two additional relevant Social Science or Science subjects.

Candidates should still check the specific requirements for their chosen programme because some courses have additional conditions.

Does Meeting the FUNAAB Cut-Off Guarantee Admission?

No.

The published score is a minimum acceptable UTME score. It should not be treated as an admission guarantee.

FUNAAB states that admission will be offered through JAMB CAPS based on the carrying capacity of the course, the minimum UTME score and the O’Level, UTME or Direct Entry subject requirements.

This means candidates should consider their complete admission profile rather than their JAMB score alone.

What Should I Do If I Meet the FUNAAB Cut-Off Mark?

If your UTME score meets the minimum requirement for your chosen programme, you should continue monitoring the admission process.

You should:

  1. Confirm that your O’Level subjects meet the course requirements.
  2. Check your FUNAAB screening information.
  3. Monitor the FUNAAB admission portal.
  4. Check your JAMB CAPS regularly.
  5. Watch for the FUNAAB admission list.
  6. Accept an admission offer when required.
  7. Follow FUNAAB’s instructions for subsequent registration and clearance.

Candidates should also keep their application details and payment records safe.

What If My Score Is Below My Course’s Cut-Off Mark?

If your UTME score is below the published minimum for your chosen programme, you do not meet the stated UTME requirement for that course.

For example, a candidate who scored 180 does not meet the published 200 minimum for Computer Science.

Candidates should not assume that a Post-UTME screening result can automatically remove the minimum UTME requirement.

Where a change of course or institution is permitted, candidates should follow the official JAMB and FUNAAB instructions applicable to their situation.

Conclusion

The FUNAAB cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 academic session is programme-specific. The university’s official admission portal lists minimum acceptable UTME scores between 160 and 200.

Candidates should therefore check the requirement for their chosen course instead of relying on a single general FUNAAB cut-off mark.

Meeting the minimum score is an important part of the admission process, but it does not guarantee admission. Candidates must also satisfy the relevant O’Level, UTME or Direct Entry requirements and continue monitoring JAMB CAPS and the FUNAAB admission process.
