The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has concluded its 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise for prospective undergraduate students. The physical screening exercise took place from September 25 to September 30, 2026, after the university moved the exercise from its earlier September schedule.
Candidates who participated in the screening are now waiting for their results and the next stage of the admission process. OAU has an online screening result checker on its e-portal, which candidates can use when their results become available.
However, candidates should understand the difference between the availability of a result-checking page and an official release of the 2026/2027 screening results. The existence of the checker does not by itself mean that every candidate’s result has been uploaded.
Is OAU Post UTME Result 2026/2027 Out?
As of October 1, 2026, OAU has not been verified as having officially announced the release of the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening results.
Candidates who completed the screening should therefore avoid relying on social media posts or unofficial claims that the result is already available.
The important development is that the screening exercise itself has now ended. OAU conducted the exercise between September 25 and September 30, 2026, following the revised schedule announced by the university.
Candidates should continue checking the official OAU e-portal for the result once the university uploads it.
How to Check OAU Post UTME Result 2026/2027
When the 2026/2027 screening result becomes available, candidates should use the OAU result-checking portal.
The current OAU screening result page provides fields for a serial number, PIN number and candidate name selection.
Follow these steps:
- Open the OAU e-portal.
- Locate the screening test result checker.
- Enter the required serial number.
- Enter the PIN number.
- Select your name where required.
- Submit the details.
- Allow the portal to display your screening result.
- Save or print the result for your records.
Candidates should enter their details carefully. A wrong serial number or PIN can prevent the result from displaying correctly.
What Information Will Candidates See?
The exact presentation of the 2026/2027 result should be confirmed when OAU releases the results.
Candidates should not assume that the screening result itself represents an admission offer. A Post-UTME result is part of the admission process, while admission status is a separate matter.
OAU maintains a separate admission-status page where candidates can check provisional admission using their admission details.
This means candidates should not confuse:
- OAU Post-UTME screening result
- OAU admission status
- JAMB CAPS admission status
- OAU final admission documentation
Each serves a different purpose in the admission process.
What Should I Do After Checking My OAU Post UTME Result?
After checking the screening result, candidates should continue monitoring the admission process.
The next important stage is the release and processing of admission offers. Candidates should regularly check their JAMB CAPS account and the OAU admission portal for updates.
A candidate may see an admission-related update on JAMB CAPS before the OAU portal displays the same information. For this reason, candidates should not depend on only one platform.
Candidates should also ensure that the details used during their OAU application and JAMB registration remain accessible. Keep your JAMB registration number, application details and login information safe.
OAU Post UTME Result and Admission Status Are Not the Same
This is one of the most important points for candidates to understand.
Your Post-UTME result tells you how you performed in the university’s screening process. Your admission status tells you whether the university has offered you admission.
A good screening result does not mean that admission has already been offered.
Admission can depend on the university’s admission process, available spaces, programme requirements and other applicable conditions. Candidates should therefore wait for an official admission update rather than treating their screening score as an admission guarantee.
How to Check OAU Admission Status
OAU has a separate admission-status page on its e-portal.
Candidates can use the page to check provisional admission by entering the required year and JAMB registration number.
The process is different from checking the Post-UTME screening result.
Candidates should therefore use the correct portal option for the information they want to check.
If you want to know your screening performance, use the screening result checker.
If you want to know whether OAU has offered you admission, use the admission-status checker.
Should OAU Candidates Check JAMB CAPS?
Yes. Candidates seeking admission into OAU should also monitor their JAMB CAPS account.
JAMB CAPS is important because admission processing involves the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board. Candidates should check their CAPS status when admission processing begins and follow any instructions presented on their account.
Candidates should not accept or reject an admission offer based on rumours from WhatsApp groups or social media. They should first confirm that the offer appears through the appropriate official platform.
What If My OAU Post UTME Result Is Not Showing?
If your result does not appear immediately, do not assume that you have failed.
There can be a difference between the time a university announces a result and the time individual records become accessible through its portal.
First, confirm that you are using the correct result-checking page and the correct credentials.
Next, check whether OAU has officially announced that the results have been uploaded.
If the university has confirmed the release but your result remains unavailable, contact OAU through the official channel provided for the 2026/2027 screening exercise.
OAU previously directed screening enquiries to postutme2026@oauife.edu.ng during the 2026/2027 exercise.
Be Careful With Fake OAU Admission Information
The period after Post-UTME screening often attracts fraudulent admission claims.
Candidates should be particularly careful with messages claiming that they can secure OAU admission through payment to an agent.
OAU specifically warned candidates during the 2026 screening exercise that the university does not endorse or encourage candidates to patronise Post-UTME or admission agents.
Do not give your JAMB password, OAU login details or payment information to strangers who claim they can influence your admission.
Use the official OAU platforms for screening results, admission information and subsequent registration.
OAU Post UTME 2026/2027 Timeline
The key dates for the current admission exercise include:
| Activity | Date |
|---|---|
| OAU Post-UTME registration deadline | September 23, 2026 |
| Individual screening schedules available | September 16, 2026 |
| Physical Post-UTME screening | September 25–30, 2026 |
| Screening exercise concluded | September 30, 2026 |
| Post-UTME result | Awaiting official release |
| Admission processing | Candidates should continue monitoring OAU and JAMB platforms |
The September 25–30 screening dates came from OAU’s revised official schedule. The university had initially planned the exercise for September 1–5 before moving it to the later dates.
OAU Candidates Should Prepare for the Next Stage
Candidates who have completed their Post-UTME screening should now focus on monitoring the admission process.
Keep your documents ready, especially your JAMB registration details and O’Level information. Continue checking the OAU e-portal and JAMB CAPS rather than waiting for information from unofficial groups.
Most importantly, do not panic if your result does not appear immediately after the screening exercise. The screening ended on September 30, and the university has not yet been verified as having officially announced the release of the 2026/2027 screening results.
Conclusion
OAU has concluded its 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise, which ran from September 25 to September 30, 2026. Candidates who participated are now waiting for the university’s official result release.
The OAU e-portal already provides a screening test result checker, but candidates should not mistake the existence of the checker for confirmation that the 2026/2027 results have been released.
Once OAU officially releases the results, candidates can use the screening result checker to view their performance. They should then continue monitoring OAU admission updates and JAMB CAPS because checking a Post-UTME result is not the same as receiving an admission offer.
